Veteran Benefit Breakfast - Open to Public

Great opportunity to support your local veterans while enjoying a delicious breakfast! Open to the public, this event is held every 1st & 3rd Sunday. Donations of only $9 for adults, $8 for veterans, and $6 for kids 12 and under. All proceeds help support local veterans!
Sand Canyon Wildflower Hike

Celebrate Colorado Public Lands Day by joining San Juan Mountains Association on a free, guided spring wildflower hike at Sand Canyon within the Canyons of the Ancients National Monument. We will be going for a hike (no more than 5 miles) on moderate terrain. Along the way we will observe and learn about the flowers in bloom, as well as learn about the area's geology and human history.
Adaptive Sports Association Volunteer Training-Flatwater Paddle Sports

Join us for volunteer canoe/kayak/paddleboard training! No experience is necessary! We will meet at the JCTS (463 Turner Driver #105). AKC All Breed Dog Show

The annual Durango Kennel Club dog show will be held at McGee Park in Farmington May 17-19. Over 500 dogs will compete for Best in Show each day. Join us to cheer on your favorite breed and meet new ones. Free Admission Great Food Vendors selling all things dogs.
SJMA Durango Nature Center Open to the Public

The San Juan Mountains Association's Durango Nature Center is once again open to the public on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 9 until 2. Sjma.org has more information.   This 140-acre conservation easement is situated along the Florida River, this special place traverses riparian, sagebrush, and pinyon juniper ecosystems. With hiking trails, river play, a picnic pavilion, interpretive trails, a nesting bird walk and more.

Learn about Loving Kindness (Metta) practice and how we can apply this age-old philosophy to our creative and personal lives. Participants will discover resonating Metta phrases and create artwork to support their meaning. Our art-making will be very free-form, abstract if desired, and otherwise more on the relaxed, "doodling" end of the spectrum. Whatever supports a non-judgmental and open mind!   All supplies will be provided (paper, markers, colored pencils, collaging materials). However, if you want to bring any of your own supplies feel free to do so such as, watercolors, mark-making tools and collaging materials.
