Experience the world-famous Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad's iconic canyon views along the highline in just over 5 hours. If you are looking for an unforgettable train adventure with incredible geological features and fantastic scenery that is downright jaw-dropping, look no further than these steam train excursions departing from the Durango Depot and traveling deep into the wilderness inaccessible by any roads. All trains have a concession car with a variety of light snacks available for purchase.   Cascade Canyon Express steam excursions depart from our Durango Depot (479 Main Avenue) at 9:45am and the excursion will last 5.25 hours arriving back at the Durango Depot at 3:00pm. The Cascade Canyon Express does not travel to Silverton. It does follow the same route but travels to Cascade Canyon, which is about a halfway point between Durango and Silverton. Announcing: Smithsonian's Museum on Main Street (MoMS) exhibit: Crossroads: "Change in Rural America" a Colorado Humanities tour, is coming to Ignacio!   We invite you to participate in this FREE and interactive exhibit for all ages! Come reflect on Ignacio's history while finding out how you connect to your community with events and programs designed to complement the Smithsonian exhibition.   Free Events include:  Monday, April 29th, 10:00am: Grand opening and ribbon cutting.  Thursday, May 9th, 5:00-6:00 pm: Ties to Land and place.  Friday, May 17th, 1:00-2:00 pm: Community Celebrations and Traditions   Tuesday, May 21st, 5:00-6:00 pm: Ignacio's past, present, and future.  Friday, May 31st, 5:00-7:00 pm: Grand finale event: "Voices, Views, and Visions."   See you there!

There will be a Vietnam Veterans Memorial Day Remembrance.

There will be a Veterans Remembrance Memorial Ceremony at Greenmount Cemetary. This ceremony is to remember the veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice to their nation in all wars.

VFW Post 4031 will hold an Open House on Memorial Day following the ceremonies at various locations in Durango. All are welcome. Come to thank veterans for their service to this nation. Food will be served.
