Durango Cowboy Gathering Parade
10:30am / Downtown
One of the highlights of the Durango Cowboy Poetry Gathering is the largest motorless parade in Colorado. This much anticipated event takes place downtown on Saturday morning following a delicious chuckwagon breakfast that begins at 7:30 a.m. at the corner of 5th and Main. An Old West gunfight in front of the Main Mall kicks off the parade which starts promptly at 10:30 a.m. The colorful procession does not involve any vehicles—just historic wagons and carriages, lovely ladies & gents dressed in period costumes, and buckaroos on stick horses. And of course, there will be horses, lots of horses as well mules, donkeys, and even a llama or two.    Anyone is welcome to enter the parade and there is no entry fee. So why not get dressed up and join in the fun? If you can't enter, come on down that morning and cheer on those who do. In addition to a cowboy breakfast, there will be live music at the Main Mall. You'll have a great time and will be supporting Durango's western heritage.
