Snowdown Balloon Rally & Mass Ascension

This spectacular event features a beautiful display of colorful hot air balloons ascending in the early morning frost. Snowdown Balloon Rally Train
8:00am / Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad
The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is again the proud HotAir Balloons sponsor of the Snowdown Balloon Rally Mass Ascension. As part of the celebration, the D&SNGRR is running the Snowdown Balloon Rally Train. The train will stop in the Animas Valley for the colorful hot-air balloon mass ascension, offering passengers the chance to view the mass ascension from the comfort of heated train coaches. If they choose, passengers can also get off the train for 15-20 minutes to get a better view of the balloons.   After the balloons drift off or land, the train will continue on to Cascade Canyon for a short break by the Animas River before returning to Durango.   Lunch, snacks, beverages, bar drinks and souvenirs are available for purchase on the concession car on the train.   Boxed Lunch Available! As an added convenience for our guests, you may pre-purchase a personal Premium Boxed Lunch that we will have onboard waiting for you!
Snowdown 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament

Hosted by Durango Parks & Rec. Join in the SNOWDOWN celebration by playing 3-on-3 basketball! This tournament is for kids in grades 3rd through 12th. 8 Divisions, maximum 4 players per team. Teams are guaranteed a minimum of 4 games and event T-shirt with registration. Rock and Roll Pinball SNOWDOWN Showdown is a fun and exciting pinball tournament for junior rock stars to rock their Pinball Wizard skills! It's a 3 strike tournament, with fantastic prizes for the top 3 junior rockers and for best costumes. You will be matched up in groups of 4. The top 2 winners from each group will earn no strikes per round, whilst the players in 3rd and 4th will earn strikes. This is a great learning pinball morning and a fun experience for the kids.
