February Luncheon with Tiffany Parker and Erin Hutchins

La Plata Dems on the Move is proud to announce the following speaker for our February luncheon: Tiffany Parker, County Clerk   Join us for our luncheon with Tiffany Parker and Erin Hutchins from the County Clerk and Recorder’s Office. Tiffany has been at the forefront Colorado&aposs changing election laws and regulations which have made us the premier state in the nation for efficiency, voter turnout, and any other measure of election success. She is also active in working toward a better community through such organizations as Boys and Girls Club. Tiffany and Erin will be providing the answers to all of your questions about the three major elections taking place in 2020. They plan on highlighting all of the deadlines you need to know about, voter registration efforts, new voting locations, and the security measures that will be implemented. By the time of this luncheon, new legislation impacting elections will have been introduced, and Tiffany will make sure you are aware of everything relevant to voters. Also on the agenda, Jean Walter, First Vice Chair of the La Plata County Democrats, will be joining us to dispel some of the confusion between the two upcoming primaries and caucuses. We look forward to seeing you at this program filled with vital information for voters.   TICKETS: $20, scholarships available. Open Shop Day
12:00pm / Four Corners Gem & Mineral Club
The shop is a creative environment where other lapidary and jewelry artists generously share their knowledge, experience, techniques, and ideas. It is advisable to bring your own materials and hand tools if you have them. The Club offers an excellent variety of motorized tools, hand tools, and even some rough stone you may use to hone new skills.    Drop-ins and new members welcome. Experience is not necessary, however it is strongly recommended that new members attend a Shop Orientation that is held at 9:00 on the first Saturday of every month.    Anyone is welcome to join the Four Corners Gem & Mineral Club! Annual Membership fees are $30 per year for individuals and $45 per year for families (covers one or two adults and any children under 18 living in the same household)

Fly Tying 101

Our Fly Tying 101 is a great introduction to the life long pursuit of fly tying if you’ve always wanted to learn to tie your own flies but don’t know where to start. We are now offering Fly Tying 101 as a FREE introductory lesson, with expert instruction and all tools/materials supplied. In this class you will learn starting a fly, wrapping thread, attaching and wrapping materials, and tying off a fly. Any flies tied by you are yours to take home and use yourself!   Tying your own flies is a great way to learn more about what is going on in a river and help you become a more successful fisherman.   Although this class is free, pre-registration is still required and spots are limited.
