Gary’s music is a blend of old standards, blues, country, rock and folk as well as some original compositions. He began playing music in this area at the Grand Imperial Hotel in Silverton. After moving to Durango and attending Fort Lewis he played in bands in Farquarhts, the Sundance Saloon, Scootin’ Blues and Purgy’s Pub among others. His band Dog at Large was quite popular throughout the 90’s and into the 2000’s. Gary’s primary inspiration for playing guitar were The Beatles although before that he was a Kingston Trio fan. Over the years Gary’s influences have expanded to include Dylan, CS&N, The Eagles and others from that genre.
