Embark on an Incredible Journey Through the San Juan Mountains!   For a truly unforgettable step back in time, enjoy a leisurely trip to yesteryear riding 3 1/2 hours each way on this steam train plus spend 2 hours in the historic mining town of Silverton to enjoy the sights, shopping, food, and libations that Silverton offers. We’ve been in continuous operation running train excursions on this 45-mile spur of the Denver & Rio Grande rail line since 1882. Much of the scenery remains unchanged since then. There’s no cell service or Wi-Fi through much of the terrain so you’ll be unplugged from the modern world. Soak in the views, listen as the steam whistle echoes through the canyon, hear the vintage locomotive work to pull the train up the grades. If you long to unwind and enjoy Colorado nature at its finest, this is the trip for you.

Open Nightly Memorial Day Weekend thru late September, The Bar D Chuckwagon Suppers in Durango, Colorado offers family entertainment with a stage show and barbecue or steak supper. After supper, The Bar D Wranglers perform their famous old west music stage show with cowboy songs, comedy, and lively instruments. The Bar D Chuckwagon Suppers is a major attraction in Durango, Colorado and a "must do"activity for family entertainment. The restaurant, stage show, shops, train, and activities are set in an old west cowboy village under the red cliffs North of Durango, Colorado.

Join the Good Food Collective this and every Thursday from 5:00-7:00 for our FREE Community Fruit Glean Happy Hour to harvest excess fruit from Durango's backyard trees.    To quench our thirst, a guest mixologist will be serving up feral fruit mocktails made from local, fresh fruit. Gleaners are invited to bring boxes and bags to take home as much fruit as they want. Remaining fruit is donated to regional food assistance programs.   This family friendly event helps get fresh produce to our region's food insecure populations, protects our bear populations and reduces waste!    Spots are limited, so please RSVP on our website - https://www.goodfoodcollective.org    Can't make it? The Community Concert Hall and Alpine Bank have teamed up once again to present the free "Concerts @ The Park" series!   Picnics, blankets, and lawn chairs are encouraged! Fired Up Pizzeria will be offering a selection of food and beverages throughout the evening. We continue to encourage safe pandemic prevention practices by all Concert Hall @ the Park attendees.   September 16 - Nosotros - Albuquerque/Santa Fe - One of the most recognizable Latin bands in the Southwest United States. Featured on NPR's Alt Latino, two-time winners of the prestigious John Lennon Songwriting Competition.

Join Mike Ryan, author of Great American Turquoise Rush, 1890 - 1910 and Turquoise in America, Part II, 1920 - 1990. Mike will speak on the history of Turquoise in America.   A book signing and reception will follow.

Trivia night is back! Join us every Thursday from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Located outside on the Carver Family Plaza, our trivia consists of four rounds of questions and always includes one scientific round and a music round. $5 suggested team donations. Cash bar, food available from Soup Palette and Juicy's Shanty.
