Embark on an Incredible Journey Through the San Juan Mountains!   For a truly unforgettable step back in time, enjoy a leisurely trip to yesteryear riding 3 1/2 hours each way on this steam train plus spend 2 hours in the historic mining town of Silverton to enjoy the sights, shopping, food, and libations that Silverton offers. We’ve been in continuous operation running train excursions on this 45-mile spur of the Denver & Rio Grande rail line since 1882. Much of the scenery remains unchanged since then. There’s no cell service or Wi-Fi through much of the terrain so you’ll be unplugged from the modern world. Soak in the views, listen as the steam whistle echoes through the canyon, hear the vintage locomotive work to pull the train up the grades. If you long to unwind and enjoy Colorado nature at its finest, this is the trip for you.

A different virtual workout every time, this energizing class consists of aerobic intervals to improve cardiovascular endurance combined with strength training intervals, core and balance work. Common equipment is incorporated, modifications will be shown for those without equipment. Your instructor is Durango personal trainer Lynn Beck. Class is open to all. The "centralized" wildlife portraits of Edward Aldrich provide a window into a world that most will never experience firsthand. He invites us to contemplate that world, acquainting ourselves with the wonder of the wild. "While I'm painting, I can recall the original experience that my composition is based on, letting that energy and my love for that animal hopefully inspire the viewer." The show continues virtually, and through October 31.

Join the Good Food Collective this and every Thursday from 4:00-6:00 for our FREE Community Fruit Glean Happy Hour to harvest excess fruit from Durango's backyard trees.    To quench our thirst, a guest mixologist will be serving up feral fruit mocktails made from local, fresh fruit. Gleaners are invited to bring boxes and bags to take home as much fruit as they want. Remaining fruit is donated to regional food assistance programs.   This family friendly event helps get fresh produce to our region's food insecure populations, protects our bear populations and reduces waste!    Spots are limited, so please RSVP on our website - https://www.goodfoodcollective.org    Can't make it? Fort Lewis College celebrates Native American theatre! FLC Theatre will perform 3 short plays exploring cultural traditions, origin stories, heritage, and belonging. All 3 plays are written and directed by Native Americans. In Wild Horses, a 12-year-old Tongva Native American girl from LA takes a fantastic journey, through the use of puppetry and imaginative characterizations, into her city and her family's history.
