Join us at the Center for Innovation Friday mornings for Toastmasters!    Toastmasters International is a non-profit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs.   Can't make it in person? We host the meeting virtually, so join us from home! Meetings will start at 7:15am every Friday.   
Scenic Round Trip Silverton Train

Embark on an Incredible Journey Through the San Juan Mountains!   For a truly unforgettable step back in time, enjoy a leisurely trip to yesteryear riding 3 1/2 hours each way on this steam train plus spend 2 hours in the historic mining town of Silverton to enjoy the sights, shopping, food, and libations that Silverton offers. We’ve been in continuous operation running train excursions on this 45-mile spur of the Denver & Rio Grande rail line since 1882. Much of the scenery remains unchanged since then. There’s no cell service or Wi-Fi through much of the terrain so you’ll be unplugged from the modern world. Soak in the views, listen as the steam whistle echoes through the canyon, hear the vintage locomotive work to pull the train up the grades. If you long to unwind and enjoy Colorado nature at its finest, this is the trip for you.

'The Wonder of the Wild' with Edward Aldrich - Exhibition

The "centralized" wildlife portraits of Edward Aldrich provide a window into a world that most will never experience firsthand. He invites us to contemplate that world, acquainting ourselves with the wonder of the wild. "While I'm painting, I can recall the original experience that my composition is based on, letting that energy and my love for that animal hopefully inspire the viewer." The show continues virtually, and through October 31.

Get your hands dirty as you create a unique and functional clay dish of your choice. We will mix creativity with pleasure as we unwind from a busy week, enjoy happy hour treats, spend time with community artists, and, most importantly, hand-build a clay dish to use for years to come.    By the end of the evening your piece will be ready for glazing. You select a glaze which we will apply when your dish is dry. Native American Stories for All Ages

Fort Lewis College celebrates Native American theatre! FLC Theatre will perform 3 short plays exploring cultural traditions, origin stories, heritage, and belonging. All 3 plays are written and directed by Native Americans. In Wild Horses, a 12-year-old Tongva Native American girl from LA takes a fantastic journey, through the use of puppetry and imaginative characterizations, into her city and her family's history. Chief Tender-Foot has a problem… his feet! Is there a solution to his problem? Can 2 wily bison out-wit Buffalo Bill Cody?
