Scenic Round Trip Silverton Train

Embark on an Incredible Journey Through the San Juan Mountains!   For a truly unforgettable step back in time, enjoy a leisurely trip to yesteryear riding 3 1/2 hours each way on this steam train plus spend 2 hours in the historic mining town of Silverton to enjoy the sights, shopping, food, and libations that Silverton offers. We’ve been in continuous operation running train excursions on this 45-mile spur of the Denver & Rio Grande rail line since 1882. Much of the scenery remains unchanged since then. There’s no cell service or Wi-Fi through much of the terrain so you’ll be unplugged from the modern world. Soak in the views, listen as the steam whistle echoes through the canyon, hear the vintage locomotive work to pull the train up the grades. If you long to unwind and enjoy Colorado nature at its finest, this is the trip for you.

Veterans Benefit Breakfast - Open to Public

Great opportunity to support your local veterans while enjoying a delicious breakfast! Open to the public, this event is held every 1st & 3rd Sunday of the month from 9 AM to 11 AM at the VFW Post 4031. Donations of only $8 for adults, $7 for veterans, and $5 for kids 12 and under. All proceeds help support local veterans!

Aztec Highland Games & Celtic Festival

Shanta Goes Global Fundraiser

Join the Shanta Foundation for a presentation and fundraiser to learn about the work we do in developing nations. Our model empowers rural villagers mired in extreme poverty to solve local problems, such as hunger, education and health issues exacerbated by the Covid19 pandemic. Extreme poverty is not a given! If we unite around proven solutions, we can put an end to this needless suffering. Currently, our work focuses on villages in SE Asia, but we are exploring expansion to another continent. If you'd like to see an end to global hunger, come and see what we are all about.
