The Art of Painting

Come and join us each week when a variety of Painting Artists will teach special techniques through different painting mediums!   Beginners are welcome! Adaptive Sports Association Returning Volunteer Orientation

Two times offered: 10:00am-11:00am OR 5:00pm-6:00pm   Adaptive Sports Association (ASA) kicks off the winter season with volunteer training! ASA is a non-profit sports and recreation outfitter for people with disabilities. Volunteer training is free and a great way for people interested in the outdoors to get involved and connect with their community. Volunteers are needed daily to teach ski and snowboard lessons. No experience is necessary, but volunteers must be at least intermediate skiers or snowboarders. Volunteers also earn discounted skiing at Purgatory and college credit through arranged internships.    Please wear a mask.    ASA's programs enrich and transform the lives of people with disabilities through sports and recreation. By working with participants to overcome physical and cognitive challenges in a safe, supportive environment, ASA volunteers help participants "explore possibilities."

Adult Pottery Classses

Join potter Margie Coates for an 11 week pottery class every Wednesday from 1pm - 3pm.   Students will learn the expressive potential of hand-building with clay through pinch, coil, and slab construction and will be introduced to the potter's wheel, for beginning and intermediate students. Basic throwing skills will be taught, as well as design and decorative techniques for functional pottery forms. Individual interests and skills will drive the class.    Classes begin September 8th and end November 17th and all levels are welcome! Cost is $220 per 11 week session ($20 per class) plus a $35 materials fee. Firing work created in class is included in the fee.
