For 71 years, friends, families, Colorado natives, and visitors have all converged upon Durango for a celebration of hard work and hobby. People of all ages showcase their animals, food, garden products, and personal creations to compete for the coveted blue ribbon. This festival, happening Wednesday - Sunday, August 10th - 14th, 2022, is one of Colorado's best ways to enjoy good, old-fashioned mountain fun. Like all state fairs, visitors will experience livestock competitions, homemade food competitions, 4-H project displays, and garden variety events.

August Lunch & Give Picnic

You're invited to our August Lunch & Give Picnic, a FREE inspiring speaker series and donation drive hosted by Power to Act, a nonprofit that seeks to offer justice, deliver practical kindness, and restore dignity by meeting the basic physical needs of women facing adversity in our local community.   Bring your own lunch + colorful picnic blanket, gather the requested Practical Products to support our Purse with Purpose Program, and enjoy an inspiring guest speaker under the shade trees of Claire Viles Park - drinks and dessert will be provided.   This August we are requesting products for our Home Handbag, which is purposed to provide basic household necessities to welcome women transitioning into a secure home after experiencing homelessness due to domestic violence. We request the donation: 2 Bath Towels   While you picnic you will hear from our Home Handbags nonprofit recipient Housing Solutions for the SW, Lara Zeitler - Programs Director.

Maddy and Kev is a singer/songwriter duo from Mancos, Colorado. As individuals, they have always had a love for music and together they collaborate to offer harmony with their voices and instruments alike. When Kevin's blues-soaked background and childhood of listening to the classic sounds of Willie and Waylon meets Maddy's love for soulful sounds of jazz, country and folk, their music delivers a sweet and savory cuisine you must taste for yourself. The group recently recorded their debut album in Woodstock, New York and their music is available on all streaming platforms.

The Badly Bent has been entrenched in the bluegrass music scene since 1998. Based in Durango, Colorado, The Badly Bent has proven its musicianship through the winning of prestigious music competitions and receiving accolades from many of its peers in the bluegrass industry.
