Featuring National Leadership Speakers.   Leadership experts from around the country will share insights on ensuring that the human side of economic development takes precedence at the 15th Annual La Plata Economic Development Alliance Summit Conference.    This year's theme is "Leading with Heart", the title of the book recently published by scheduled keynote speaker, Edward Sullivan. Sullivan will be joined by former TopGun Executive Office and Commander of the Pacific Fleet, Admiral Mike "Wizzard" McCabe, workforce specialist and TedX speaker, Sally Thorton and Kerry Siggins, CEO of StoneAge.    "Our community has inherited new challenges and opportunities in a post-pandemic economy and we are continuing to commit to a leadership conference with the Summit that will enable our business leaders to adapt", stated Michael French, Executive Director of the Alliance. "We want regional leaders to be part of the conversation as we build a more human-focused economy."   The one-day Summit is scheduled for September 21st, 2022 at Event Center in the Sky Ute Casino in Ignacio, Colorado from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Express yourself through painting and develop your artistic style in this inspiring class!   Come and join us each week when a variety of Painting Artists will teach special techniques through different painting mediums!   Students will be exposed to a variety of tips, tricks and techniques used in creating masterpieces in watercolor, acrylic, water-based oil paints, and pastels, while working with an experienced teacher to give them guidance along the way.   Beginners are welcome! This class is also perfect for students with previous painting experience or have taken this class before.

Learn more about what we're crafting AND sample our incredible chocolate or beverages at our in-cafe tastings!    Join us every other Wednesday at 5:00 pm for a free, educational beverage tasting. These tastings are in-house trainings to educate our staff about our offerings and we love to have the public join us!   Beverage tastings may be coffee or espresso based, or might include alcohol such as spirits or wine; it all depends on what our staff is learning about that week!   Each week will be something different, whether we're tasting the difference between a cappuccino (or as we call it, The Claim Jumper) and a Harlot (otherwise known as a latte), or sampling a new cocktail we're considering for our cocktail & chocolate pairing menu.   No ticket or RSVP is necessary, simply join us in the cafe to sit in, enjoy some chocolate, and learn something new! Plus, don't forget: on the Wednesdays we aren't doing beverage tastings, we'll be doing chocolate tastings! Join us each Wednesday at 5:00 for an in-cafe tasting!
