Volunteer Advocate Hotline Training

AH supports and empowers survivors of domestic violence. Alternative Horizons is currently looking for volunteer advocates, to staff our 24-Hour hotline, including those who are bi-lingual. This is a mobile opportunity. All you need is a phone and a private confidential space to take a call. Make a difference in the lives of others, join us for a free, comprehensive training.    Next Volunteer Training, September 20th through Oct 4th. Training will be held on Fort Lewis campus. Thursday Extreme Art With An Emphasis on DAC Theater Productions - Middle/High School

Each session students will discover fun and different mediums and concepts while creating extremely unique art projects! This class will focus on designing, painting, sculpture and prop techniques with an emphasis on correct shading, values, textures, and color.   September- Odd and Unusual Theater Posters and props, October - Halloween Extreme, November and December - We will celebrate DAC's Theater Production by creating posters, paintings and theater sets!   Create and become involved with DAC Theater Production of "We Will Rock You!" Theater Tickets are included with the class price. The classes offer fun, non competitive opportunities to explore new skills and individual expression.

Durango Cowboy Gathering Premiere Performer R.W. Hampton

Growing up in a small Texas town, RW has drifted all across the American West, working cowboy jobs punching cattle, riding young colts, shoeing horses and even leading trail rides and guiding hunters in the high country. Never glamorous, ranch work instilled in him a positive approach to life. His favorite was singing around the campfire while out with the wagon, and his rich baritone voice brings an honest quality whether he’s performing live or on record. RW writes and sings about what he knows and lives. His music has earned numerous honors from such prestigious organizations as the Academy of Western Artists and Western Music Association, which inducted him into their Hall of Fame in 2011.   Two shows: 6:00 and 8:30 p.m. Get your tickets now!
'The Apricot Dumpling Gang' - Western Variety Show with a Twist

Merely Players presents AS YOU LIKE IT

All the world’s a stage in one of Shakespeare’s most enchanting comedies. Music and poetry escort romance into the Forest of Arden where best friends stick together and love notes grow on trees. Our playful production is filled with flirtatious disguise, witty encounters, inventive puppetry, original music, and some of Shakespeare’s most famous phrases. Professional out-of-town actors Erika Vetter, Adam Fontana, and Zachary Chiero appear as Rosalind, Orlando, and Touchstone, joining a company of experienced and talented locals in the show that gave Merely Players our name.   Preshow Plot chats are offered 45 minutes before each show begins and are included in the ticket price.
