Manna Hosts Drive Thru Community Thanksgiving

This year Manna Soup kitchen is hosting a to-go style Community Thanksgiving Dinner. Free meals can be picked up via drive through at 1100 Avenida del Sol. Call Manna directly to volunteer at 970-385-5095.   Manna has been serving quality balanced meals in a safe and respectful environment since 1985. While our community kitchen is the core of our organization, the overall goal of Manna is to help our clients gain greater self-sufficiency through our expanded programs and services. Durango Turkey Trot
10:00am / Fort Lewis College clocktower (check-in at the Student Union)
One of Durango's most popular running races for over 30 years, the Turkey Trot presented by Animas Surgical Hospital is a holiday tradition for the whole family.   Come burn off some calories and work up an appetite before your big meal!   The Turkey Trot features a 5 mile race and a 1 mile fun run. All of the proceeds go to great local charities.   The course begins near the clocktower on the Fort Lewis College campus. From there, you will go along Rim Drive, then Goeglein Road, then climb the hill up through the Hillcrest neighborhood, then past the reservoir, behind Hillcrest golf course, and back to the finish line at the clocktower. The course measures just shy of 5 miles.

Gift Gallery

It's that time of year when lights twinkle, magic and cheer are in the air, and snow begins to fall. When everyone starts thinking about those they love, they begin their gift-shopping extravaganza! During this time, make sure you stop into DAC to shop in our new Gift Gallery!    The Gift Gallery will also be open during Downtown Durango's Annual Noel Night, where a hot chocolate bar for both adults and kids will be ready to warm you up as you shop from our local artists!
Thanksgiving Dinner at the VFW

The Lile, Bird and martin Families are sponsoring a Thanksgiving Dinner for Veterans and their guests. This event will be held in the VFW Post 4031 Downstairs Hall which is accessible by the East Entrance of the VFW. Serving will begin at 2PM.
  We ask that you RSVP so that we have enough food for everyone. RSVP at VFW4031.org and scrolling down to announcement of the Dinner. This will a great event.
Thursday Extreme Art With An Emphasis on DAC Theater Productions - Middle/High School
4:00pm / Durango Arts Center
Each session students will discover fun and different mediums and concepts while creating extremely unique art projects! This class will focus on designing, painting, sculpture and prop techniques with an emphasis on correct shading, values, textures, and color.   September- Odd and Unusual Theater Posters and props, October - Halloween Extreme, November and December - We will celebrate DAC's Theater Production by creating posters, paintings and theater sets!   Create and become involved with DAC Theater Production of "We Will Rock You!" Theater Tickets are included with the class price. The classes offer fun, non competitive opportunities to explore new skills and individual expression.

4:30pm, 6:30pm & 8:00pm. You’re invited to join us as we gather for a buffet-style Thanksgiving dinner at Purgy’s to celebrate the season. Reserve the most convenient time for you and your family with seatings offered at 4:30pm, 6:30pm & 8:00pm. We’ll have all your favorite classic dishes from turkey and ham to mashed potatoes and salad, plus a few signature Southwest additions. This will be a dine-in only event with limited seating available. Alcoholic beverages are not included in the ticket price, but there will be a cash bar available for our guests ages 21 and older.
