Envisioning a Changing DurangoScape

An on-line and in-person event demonstrating how your own yard, garden, and landscapes can change to adapt to or even to mitigate changing climate conditions. March 1-31 view 8 recorded presentations by leading horticultural experts. St. Patricks Day Express Send Off

The Kitchen Jam Band continues its tradition of sending "The Train Gang" up to Cascade on the Shamrock Express. Join the gang as they play at the station before boarding and then at Cascade Canyon. The Train Gang 2023 includes Bob Bodhran, Terry Double, Ken Beegles and Ari Sherme
Cascade Canyon Winter Train

Departing from the Durango Depot, this excursion takes you up into the Rocky Mountains with incredible views of the San Juan National Forest as you travel alongside the beautiful Animas River while relaxing in heated coaches. Cascade Canyon is a destination like no other and is the perfect setting for a fire-side lunch, photo opportunities or a walk along the Animas River during your 60-minute layover. Spanning 26 miles each way, this 5.25 hour round trip experience is offered on select dates from November 19 through May 5. We recommend reserving your trip in advance online so that you have the best chance of securing your preferred seating.
Shamrock Express

Time to get your Irish on! Come join us on the Shamrock Express bound for Cascade Canyon deep in the San Juan National Forest!   Special St. Patrick's Day decor will be displayed throughout the train for this day's journey.   A special selection of Guinness will be available for purchase in first class cars and will also be available for purchase in the concession car.   Music will be provided by the local Celtic musicians, the Kitchen Jam Band! They will be playing traditional Irish music on the platform in front of the Depot before departure as well as at Cascade Canyon!   Passengers will have the option of pre-ordering a special St. Patrick's Day boxed lunch for $16. featuring a Special Corned Beef Sandwich in addition to the regular boxed lunches ($15) offered every day.

16th Annual Bach Festival - Bachs Lunch

Bach’s Lunch is a half-hour recital at noon, followed by lunch catered by Manna Soup Kitchen in the Parish Hall. Meet the musicians, enjoy lunch, and mingle with other Bach lovers.   Pay at the door. Dancing Spirit offers a weekly art class for kids in grades 1-5. Each class includes music & movement, arts & crafts and games. $75 per month (4 classes) or $25 per day for a drop-in. (Drop-ins, please call ahead so we are prepared with materials and snacks.)

Pots And Pints - Ceramic Hand-Building Happy Hour - Ceramic Leprechauns

Come get your hands dirty as you create a unique Ceramic Leprechaun! We will mix creativity with pleasure as we unwind from a busy week, enjoy happy hour drinks, spend time with community artists, and most importantly hand-build a Ceramic Leprechaun. By the end of the evening, your piece will be ready for glazing. You will select a glaze that will be applied to your ceramic piece when fired. Look for an email telling you when your piece is ready for pick-up and use. (about 16 days) Let the fun begin!  $30.00 Per Participant

While it's hard to predict exactly what will happen - sometimes there's dancing dinosaurs and sometimes there's a really great dancer, there's always good wine, conversation and music!
