Envisioning a Changing DurangoScape

An on-line and in-person event demonstrating how your own yard, garden, and landscapes can change to adapt to or even to mitigate changing climate conditions. March 1-31 view 8 recorded presentations by leading horticultural experts. On March 16 listen to Colorado's most prominent horticulturist, Panayoti Kelaidis, director of outreach and senior curator of Denver Botanic Gardens present "Rethinking the Durangoscape: What will it take to honor our setting?"   Check out the unique website at www.durangoscape.org for more information on the speakers. Cascade Canyon Winter Train

Departing from the Durango Depot, this excursion takes you up into the Rocky Mountains with incredible views of the San Juan National Forest as you travel alongside the beautiful Animas River while relaxing in heated coaches. Cascade Canyon is a destination like no other and is the perfect setting for a fire-side lunch, photo opportunities or a walk along the Animas River during your 60-minute layover. Spanning 26 miles each way, this 5.25 hour round trip experience is offered on select dates from November 19 through May 5. We recommend reserving your trip in advance online so that you have the best chance of securing your preferred seating.
Southern Series Ski Championships - Super G race day on Upper Hades

We’re stoked to host this a Slalom, Giant Slalom and Super G race event.   This event is open to USSA competitors of all ages.    These races are great for spectating and watching the competition unfold.

Dancing Spirit offers a weekly art class for kids in grades 1-5. Each class includes music & movement, arts & crafts and games. $75 per month (4 classes) or $25 per day for a drop-in. (Drop-ins, please call ahead so we are prepared with materials and snacks.)

Pots And Pints - Ceramic Hand-Building Happy Hour - Soup Bowls

Come get your hands dirty as you create a unique Ceramic Soup Bowl! We will mix creativity with pleasure as we unwind from a busy week, enjoy happy hour drinks, spend time with community artists, and most importantly hand-build a Soup Bowl. By the end of the evening, your piece will be ready for glazing. You will select a glaze that will be applied to your ceramic piece when fired. Look for an email telling you when your piece is ready for pick-up and use. (about 16 days) Let the fun begin!  $30.00 Per Participant

He was a founding member of the band Elephant Revival, and in 2019 he began touring under his own name and released his first EP, 'Your Heart The Stars The Milky Way' (2019).    "It's just got something that you want to hear again, something healing and good at its core. Do yourself a favor and play the whole EP, and do that again. And again."    Wesley Schultz (Lumineers)  Daniel Rodriguez tours as a trio or quartet and is booked for an exciting 2020 with both headlining and support tours. His first full album, 'Sojourn of the Burning Sun,' is set for Summer 2020 release.   Jack Cloonan has been playing music for as long as he can remember, having learned it from his grandfather in Chicago. For the past five years, Jack has been professionally touring though out this country as well as many others including India, Ireland, Switzerland, France, and many more.    Since graduating Fort Lewis College in 2015, Jack has released one studio album, with another one set to release this year. On top of that, a UK tour is planned for April followed by some world class festivals such as Tico Time Bluegrass Fest and Summer Camp Music Festival. Keep and eye out this year for more dates and music as Jack blends bluegrass, blues, folk, Celtic, and many more genres to create his own unique sound and style.
