Silverton Summer Train - Steam Locomotive

For a truly unforgettable step back in time, enjoy a leisurely trip to yesteryear riding 3 1/2 hours each way on this train while spending a nearly 2-hour layover in the historic mining town of Silverton to enjoy the sights, shopping, food, and libations that Silverton offers. Departing from the Durango Depot, this trip takes you up into the Rocky Mountains with views of the San Juan National Forest as you travel alongside the beautiful Animas River on your way to the historic mining town of Silverton. There will be up to three steam departures depending on the date. The Silverton Steam Train departs daily at 9:00AM 5/6/23-10/28/23, 8:15AM 8/14/23-10/14/23, and 9:45AM 9/1/23-10/14/23
Monthly Boundless Heart Mindfulness Practice

Practice with Myah Lee, a certified teacher in Mindfulness and Mindful Self-Compassion(MSC).    In each session, we will explore, with curiosity, the nature of our own minds. We will investigate our experience through mindfulness practice in a wakeful, attentive, open, free and loving way. Durango Arts Week - Slump Glass Bottle Cheese Trays

Two Classes! 2:30 AND 4:30!   We will mix creativity with pleasure as we unwind from a busy day, enjoy wine and cheese, spend time with other artists, and most importantly enjoy the opportunity to sit, relax and decorate two slump glass platters. The options to decorate are limitless, these also make great gifts for any occasion!   All supplies, laughter, glass of wine, cheese, and an experienced teacher to guide you, are included in this very special class

Old West Cowboy Music Show and Chuckwagon Supper. Durango's favorite family entertainment since 1969. Bar D Wranglers perform in concert after supper with music and songs of old west cowboys, comedy, and lively instrumentals. The show is fun for the whole family.    Activities, shops, and ticketing open at 4:30. Supper is at 6:30. Open Memorial Day Weekend through September - Rain or Shine !    Reservations are required.

Are you a beginner/intermediate acoustic music player looking to play more? This weekly jam is welcoming to all players, with a focus on slower tempo improvisation solos and chord changes. If you can play the I, IV and V chords in G, D and A then you know enough to play at this jam!
SCAPE Tech Series: Explore the Internet of Things (IoT)

Join us for a discussion on the Internet of Things (IoT) - encompassing electronics, communication and computer science engineering. We'll cover how this tactic is used to solve problems and get creative on ways to incorporate IoT in your business and life. This session is led by SCAPE Mentor Peter Provost, former head of product development teams at Microsoft's Developer & Azure cloud divisions and helped establish a few "internal startups" within the company.   This session is one in a new Summer Tech Series. Guest speakers will cover a variety of topics from data, no code creation, to artificial intelligence and cloud computing and how these tools can add more efficiency to your work. Come for the topic, stay for the connections. We encourage everyone from tech leaders to tech-curious to be our guest. This event is a collaborative effort with SCAPE Mentors, Nicholas Goodman and Ben Le Cun, drinks and snacks provided by SCAPE.
