Human Resources Workshop: Ask a Lawyer

Ask a Lawyer, featuring Michael Santo, Managing Attorney at Bechtel & Santo of Grand Junction.    Join us for a three-part Human Resources Workshop in partnership with the Durango Chamber and the Durango Area Human Resources Managers. Meet our Expert Speaker: Michael Santo The Law Firm of Bechtel & Santo was founded in 2005 in Grand Junction, Colorado, by Betty Bechtel and Michael Santo. Bechtel & Santo has consistently focused on employment law issues for businesses and has steadily increased its sphere of clients across Western Colorado and into the Front Range. This event invites businesses to craft a creative outfit from materials related to their industry. Models then strut their stuff on stage to compete in three categories.
Build a Bong with Mr. B

It's happening again! Mr. B is back to help you get ready for those long holidays with relatives or those cold winter nights without much to do by helping you make your very own custom smoking apparatus. Come get your hands dirty as you create unique and functional pipes, bubblers, bongs or any other smoking related pottery your heart desires using slab-building techniques! Enjoy happy hour drinks, spend time with community artists, and most importantly hand-build a clay smoking device to use for years to come. You will then glaze your piece using a variety of colors. Look for an email telling you when your piece is ready for pick-up and use. Perfect for a stoner couple date idea, a great way to hang out or simply make new friends while you build the piece of your dreams. With two days of classes you'll have plenty of chances to join the fun!    No Experience Necessary! Best of the Fest

Durango Independent Film Festival presents "Best of the Fest" - we'll screen the finest stories from the 2023 Festival. With a sampling of award winners and fan favorites, this is an opportunity to get a taste of everything that makes our local film festival so special.    We'll also be featuring a Silent Auction with great items including tickets to the Community Concert Hall, San Juan Symphony; gifts such as Apple Air Pods, a Beaded Navajo Rug Necklace, and Duck Girl Art Canvas Shoes; and many great gift baskets and gift certificates.    Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
'The Hobbit'

Bilbo, one of the most conservative of all Hobbits, is asked to leave his large, roomy and very dry home in the ground in order to set off as chief robber in an attempt to recover an important treasure. It's the last thing that any sensitive Hobbit would want to do, but great benefit eventually results—not only for Bilbo but for all of the Hobbits who inhabit Middle Earth—and the hearts of those children and adults who continue to enjoy this kind of magic.
Nevermore: The Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Edgar Allan Poe

To celebrate the end of the Halloween season, FLC Musical Theatre will present the Off-Broadway hit, Nevermore: The Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Edgar Allan Poe. Nevermore follows the struggles of one of America's most famous poets and authors as he faces abandonment, addiction, poverty, and significant loss, all of which contribute to the composing of some of American literature's greatest works. The book, lyrics, and music for Nevermore are by Jonathan Christenson, who harkens to numerous Poe works, including the iconic poem "The Raven." The theatricality and wide variety of musical styles teamed with the storytelling through metered verse and movement will be an experience you will not soon forget. Think Tim Burton meets Edgar Allen Poe!
