These Places Untold and Vibrant Cows
11:00am / Gallery 1135
In his solo show, artist Joseph Magnano presents his original artwork, Vibrant Cows and These Places Untold. Vibrant Cows are award-winning and well-collected. The cows have been Joe's focus for the past 10 years. The titles are presented on the front of the paintings, which offer a connection to basic goodness. These Places Untold, Joseph's new work, are quite unique and being exhibited in Durango for the first time. Every These Places Untold painting begins as scraps fabric that are playfully laid out and sewn together into quilted collages. Each quilt becomes a reference for the painting and are on display for viewing at the gallery. These Places Untold are colorful acrylic paintings that bring to life a curious world of mystery. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday 11am-6pm
Brand Identity Sprint 3 Week Series with Claire Attkisson
12:30pm / Durango Sustainable Goods
A 3- week lunch hour series every Monday in February from 12:30-1:30pm. Perfect for start-ups, entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, and marketing teams (working on a re-brand) launching a new business. All 3 sessions are required as they build upon one another. You'll come away with a brand identity and strategy you love at the end of the month. We start our 3- week series with an " idea-storm" to clarify or discover your purpose and why purpose matters to your culture and brand. The 2nd week we dive into identifying your brand's audience, tone, messaging, and look and feel. The final week we focus on building a brand identity guideline document, plus play with examples of your new brand identity applied to marketing collateral and channels (i.e. social/digital, web, print, etc.) The result: A powerful brand identity that allows you to clearly and consistently communicate your business proposition and what differentiates you.
Durango Death Cafe
4:00pm / Durango Joes
A Death Cafe is a time and place where people come to share food, drink tea or coffee, and discuss death openly and honestly. The aim is to increase awareness about death in order to help people make the most of their (finite) lives. There is never an intention of leading participants to any conclusion, product or course of action. A Death Café is not a bereavement support or grief counseling setting, nor is it a place to give people information about death and dying. It is not for people who, for whatever reason, are unwilling to discuss the subject of death comfortably and openly. Interesting conversations are guaranteed! These events are facilitated by Lola Montano, a registered nurse who is pursuing her hospice certification and is interested in becoming a death doula.    Join us every fourth Monday of the month from 4-5:30 pm.
