The colorful explosion of brassy funk, rock, and jazz is all about the groove. This larger-than-life group of musicians and acrobats tours the country year-round, bringing a spirit of celebration wherever they go. MarchFourth is, in a word, FUN!   Fifteen MarchFourth musicians traveled from Portland, Oregon to New Orleans, Louisiana to record their fourth studio album, MAGIC NUMBER, self-released in September 2016. With Producer Ben Ellman (Galactic) and Engineer/Producer Mikael "Count" Eldridge (DJ Shadow, Tycho, Trombone Shorty) at the helm, the album is full of the captivating grooves and brassy swagger you'd expect from MarchFourth, plus a healthy dose of New Orleans magic, with guest appearance by Trombone Shorty, Stanton Moore (drums), and Matt Perrine (sousaphone). The album was fan-funded through Kickstarter.   "Perfectly merging the artistic spirit of Portland with the musical spectacle of New Orleans, MarchFourth put on one of the most complete shows of any band on any stage. From rocking big band jam tunes, choreography and feats of strength that need to be seen to be believed, MarchFourth entertains on every level every second they are on the stage…or off!" ~Live for Live Music   "From the first note to the last, the sound was pumping and the fun never stopped… It's worth noting that there are serious musicians behind all the fun. It's obvious these guys (and gals) have had lots of training and formal practice. Talented band geeks turned rebels." ~USAToday   "Just when you think you've heard it all, suddenly a band crosses paths with your ears and changes everything… Full of auditory goodness..." ~NYS Music   "Mighty, Explosive, Carnivalesque Brass Band Funk" ~New York Music Daily   Video:  "Push It Back" live video (Jefferson Theater, 2016) https://youtu.be/ml4zZqdHNEo

Ghost Story (Play Reading)

Starring Brian Lee Franklin (Godless, Free State of Jones) and director by actor Tom Wright (Ray Donovan).   When Lydia meets a guy at a bar and brings him back to her new apartment for what she thinks is a one-night stand, things keep getting in the way. Like they could hardly be more different - she's forty, he's twenty-eight; she's black, he's white; she's a New Yorker and he's from the Midwest. And the fact that he's actually hoping for something more. And the fact that her new apartment might very well be haunted. A play about ghosts - both literal and metaphorical - and the ways we try to move forward.

Founded by Chris Montague (guitar) and Fabian Acuña (bass) in 2012, the band honed their chops backing a series of Caribbean singers. Along the way the boys picked up the insane and absurd keys player Christopher Cope and the heavy footed drummer Adam Kampf before finally trying something a little sonically different with their neighbor, female vocalist Logan Rex. After nearly a decade of playing together the boys sound tight and powerful, creating the perfect foundation for their jazz-influenced singer to dance around on lyrically and literally. What you hear is the sound of friendship, hard work, imagination and the hope to spread their message of love and the importance of having a good time. If you miss the band or wish to share your sweetness with them, don't hesitate to reach out via call or text at 561-288-2977   https://www.artikalsoundsystem.com  https://www.facebook.com/artikalsoundsystem  https://www.instagram.com/artikalsoundsystem/  https://www.youtube.com/artikalsoundsystem   Sensi Trails  Who is Sensi Trails  Since 2016, Sensi Trails has been playfully blurring the lines between Cali reggae, surf, and psychedelic rock. After releasing a 5 song EP, lead singer and guitarist Kyle Rising decided to relocate from Outerbanks North Carolina, to San Diego California. After recording and releasing the new single Just Livin' featuring Kbong of Stick Figure, he met drummer Jordan Starke and bassist/vocalist Kaya Hall. Adding a new layer of lush sound, they were soon joined by keyboardist Mike Root.   Honoring the sounds that inspired them, while mixing in fresh themes and styles, Sensi Trails is finishing their debut album. With the chemistry of catchy songs and infectious vibes, they travel the open road, on a quest to play and spread their music to the world.   Bless Up.  https://www.sensitrails.com  https://www.facebook.com/SensiTrails  https://www.instagram.com/sensitrailsmusic  https://twitter.com/sensitrails

The River Arkansas & Joshua Polaris
8:00pm / Animas City Theatre
Animas City Theatre Presents The River Arkansas & Joshua Polaris    The River Arkansas  In the winter of 2014, Mike Clark penned a collection of songs about heartbreak, love, and escaping the clutches of day-to-day society. The following spring, Clark decided to make that collection into a record. By good fortune Macon Terry, a bass player and former member of the band Paper Bird, happened to be in the neighborhood the day the studio was booked for recording. Though Terry arrived not knowing any of the songs, what they captured was the beginning of something great. Later they would add Robin Chestnut on drums, Rachel Sliker on violin, and Benjamin Gallagher on piano. With the release their third studio album "Any Kind of Weather" the band has hit their stride, traveling the mid-west, south, and western United States as well as playing festivals all across Colorado, delivering their distinctive mixture of Country, Blues, Folk and Americana.    https://www.theriverarkansas.com  https://www.facebook.com/theriverarkansas  https://youtu.be/ywTBpm4eazs  https://youtu.be/Jk6kZpvvjL4  https://youtu.be/mOYAxUuslNM  Joshua Polaris is a Colorado based singer and songwriter who spent the last ten years touring with his group Elder Grown. Experience his solo adventure for a short time only while during the next year he explores folk music, acoustic guitar playing, and storytelling. This acoustic venture will act as a way to gather funding for planting trees around the world.    Joshua Polaris's style resembles Dave Matthews and John Butler, and blends folk, acoustic alternative rock, and chant into a heart moving sound that is filled with poetry, silence, space, and deep acoustic texture.

It will build an economy that rewards work, not wealth, by lowering costs for working people — all paid for by making the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share.   But this won't happen unless our Senators support the Build Back Better reconciliation bill! Join with others across the country at our local events to tell our Congresspeople that WE CAN'T WAIT!   Featuring performances by Aria PettyOne, Tulley, and Charlize Darrwyn!

A Night of Critique with Steve Chinn
6:00pm / Create Art and Tea
This class is designed to help the intermediate to advanced level Digital SLR camera users and photography students to better see composition when taking photos. Ideas will be presented to better evaluate your scene and subject matter before pushing the shutter button as well as critiquing their own work in the editing process. Often images have a good exposure but lack "compositional impact" for the viewer. Learning to "see" elements, "anticipate the shot" , is a skill that takes photography to the next level. In this class, we discuss ideas on how to sharpen the students creative eye, before the shutter is snapped and after in post production editing to enhance the impact of the image.    We will have an open floor discussion with students work for all to see and listen in on critique. Suggestions will be given on how to better understand what effect the photographer is wanting to get before snapping the shutter.   Class Level: Intermediate to Advanced   Supplies Required: DSLR camera and accessories of choice. *Please no cell phones.   6 photos to critique JPG format on a thumb drive or memory stick. *Please no camera memory card.   Written camera settings (ISO F-stop and Shutter Speed) for each photo that you care to discuss.
