Learn to fly with Alpine Aerial Acrobatics summer camps! All levels and all ages welcome in this aerial & art camp! The focus of this week of camp will be learning aerial acrobatic skills on aerial silks, lyra and trapeze as well as make-up and costuming to turn any performance into a work of art! AAA day camps run Monday - Thursday from 8:30am - 12:30pm at the Durango Sports Club. Please send campers with snack, lunch and a water bottle daily.

We teach Salsa on 2 (NYC style).   Level 3 is for intermediate Salsa dancers with a solid grasp of musicality, footwork, cross-body leads, and combination moves. Earring Making Class Series with Maggie Emerson

In this class series, we are going to be learning the brick stitch in order to create a gorgeous pair of " I AM POWER' earrings over our time together.    The brick stitch is often the most challenging, yet most rewarding stitch. The brick stitch is what creates the tops of all those Maggie Emerson Design earrings you've seen and soon you'll be creating your own too!!   It is best to learn this skill over time to allow yourself to enJOY the experience rather than going for perfection on the first try. Our 3 classes together will get you into the groove of the brick stitch so you can create your own earrings by the end of this 3 part series and beyond.   I can hardly wait to play with you!!

Come on out this summer to Durango's Rochester Hotel for some fantastic music and fun times, and support local non-profit environmental organizations!   On August 3, the Lisa Blue Trio will perform 50's-90's Pop, blues, country, jazz, and standards to benefit 4Core, serving southwest Colorado by promoting resource conservation, energy efficiency and renewable energy through education and programs to foster a healthy, sustainable environment.   Tickets for each event are $10 at the door on the day of the event, or you can purchase a discounted online punch pass for $50. The punch pass is valid for six punches—you may use one punch each week, or all six punches in one week—or any combination in between!

Bulbs are perhaps the most underutilized plant in all of our gardens… but they don't have to be. The Durango Botanic Garden's annual bulb sale is coming soon. Buy bulbs in the summer? Yes, it's the perfect time to order your bulbs and pick them up in the fall. October is the ideal time to plant bulbs in SW Colorado. Bulbs are easy to grow and return year after year.   The Durango Botanic Gardens Annual Bulb Sale will once again be conducted online. Almost 50 types of bulbs will be available to order. The Bulb Sale preview opens on July 22 on the Botanic Gardens' website: www.durangobotanicgardens.org. You will find pictures and descriptions of all the available bulbs to help you plan your garden. Vendors post their farming practices at their booth and most follow organic growing methods.   Our market also offers hot ready to eat food from local vendors, value added foods such as jams, jellies and sauces and local artisans who make high-quality handcrafted items. All vendors must produce their goods within our five-county radius ensuring fresh produce and locally made goods. Bulbs are easy to grow and return year after year.   The Durango Botanic Gardens Annual Bulb Sale will once again be conducted online. Almost 50 types of bulbs will be available to order. The Bulb Sale preview opens on July 22 on the Botanic Gardens' website: www.durangobotanicgardens.org. You will find pictures and descriptions of all the available bulbs to help you plan your garden. People of all ages showcase their animals, food, garden products, and personal creations to compete for the coveted blue ribbon. This festival, happening Wednesday - Sunday, August 10th - 14th, 2022, is one of Colorado's best ways to enjoy good, old-fashioned mountain fun. Like all state fairs, visitors will experience livestock competitions, homemade food competitions, 4-H project displays, and garden variety events.

This class is perfect for the beginning digital photographer. During the course of the workshop you will learn how to set all the basic controls on your camera, as well as understanding the important menu items and shooting modes available. We'll focus on strategies for improving your photography, including how to achieve perfect color, how to capture the decisive moment, and how to improve the quality of your photographs. Bulbs are easy to grow and return year after year.   The Durango Botanic Gardens Annual Bulb Sale will once again be conducted online. Almost 50 types of bulbs will be available to order. The Bulb Sale preview opens on July 22 on the Botanic Gardens' website: www.durangobotanicgardens.org. You will find pictures and descriptions of all the available bulbs to help you plan your garden. Drum Roll... Salsa Classes are back!   Four-week sessions starting on the first Tuesday of each month. We offer Level 1 Brand New, Level 2 Beginner, and Level 3 Intermediate Salsa sessions. Taking all four classes in any given session is the best way to learn, but we do accept single-class drop-ins. Public social dance hour after class!   Tuesday nights. Level 1 - 7:00pm. Level 2 - 7:00pm. Level 3 - 6:00pm. Classes last approximately one hour. From ~ 8pm-9pm we have a public social dance!   Pricing: Entire four-week session - $50/individual - $40/each for couples. Single class drop-in - $15. Payment taken at the door.   Level Descriptions:   Level 1 is for brand-new Salsa dancers. You will learn fundamentals - Salsa musicality, proper frame and connection, the basic step, open and closed partner dance positions, basic left turns, and more. We teach Salsa on 2 (NYC style).   Level 2 is for beginner Salsa dancers with a bit of experience or ones moving up from L1. You will learn more fundamentals plus a little extra! We will continue with musicality exercises, timing, smoothing out the basic step and moves, and will move into cross-body leads, progressive left turns, basic right turns, and simple combos. We teach Salsa on 2 (NYC style).   Level 3 is for intermediate Salsa dancers with a solid grasp of musicality, footwork, cross-body leads, and combination moves. We will work on more complex combos, progressive right turns, slants, stops, copas, and more. We teach Salsa on 2 (NYC style) - but may occasionally throw in some Salsa on 1 (LA style).

Integrate image management into your workflow using Adobe Lightroom Classic software and learn how to implement an advanced keyword system for tracking the content of your images.   Leverage the power of virtual Collections to organize your images. We will also cover the Slideshow and Web modules in greater detail, including the use of custom templates for unique and powerful automatic web design. Learn how to set up a web server to post your images online for personal or client review.   Part 2 : The second day covers the Raw conversion and editing tools and Print module. Cutting and Polishing Cabochons

Learn to cut and polish a cabochon.   In this class you will learn how to operate a large slab saw. From the slab you will be able to cut out an oval blank which you will learn to grind to shape and polish. You will have created a stone that is ready to set in jewelry.   You will also learn how to drill a hole in a stone and how to make a matched pair of earrings out of rock.   Cost of the class is $80. We teach Salsa on 2 (NYC style).   Level 2 is for beginner Salsa dancers with a bit of experience or ones moving up from L1. You will learn more fundamentals plus a little extra! We will continue with musicality exercises, timing, smoothing out the basic step and moves, and will move into cross-body leads, progressive left turns, basic right turns, and simple combos. Drum Roll... Salsa Classes are back!   Four-week sessions starting on the first Tuesday of each month. We offer Level 1 Brand New, Level 2 Beginner, and Level 3 Intermediate Salsa sessions. Taking all four classes in any given session is the best way to learn, but we do accept single-class drop-ins. Public social dance hour after class!   Tuesday nights. Level 1 - 7:00pm. Level 2 - 7:00pm. Level 3 - 6:00pm. Classes last approximately one hour. From ~ 8pm-9pm we have a public social dance!   Pricing: Entire four-week session - $50/individual - $40/each for couples. Single class drop-in - $15. Payment taken at the door.   Level Descriptions:   Level 1 is for brand-new Salsa dancers. You will learn fundamentals - Salsa musicality, proper frame and connection, the basic step, open and closed partner dance positions, basic left turns, and more. We teach Salsa on 2 (NYC style).   Level 2 is for beginner Salsa dancers with a bit of experience or ones moving up from L1. You will learn more fundamentals plus a little extra! We will continue with musicality exercises, timing, smoothing out the basic step and moves, and will move into cross-body leads, progressive left turns, basic right turns, and simple combos. We teach Salsa on 2 (NYC style).   Level 3 is for intermediate Salsa dancers with a solid grasp of musicality, footwork, cross-body leads, and combination moves. We will work on more complex combos, progressive right turns, slants, stops, copas, and more. We teach Salsa on 2 (NYC style) - but may occasionally throw in some Salsa on 1 (LA style).

These tastings are designed to educate our staff or highlight in-house products we're currently developing, and we love to have the public join us!   No ticket or RSVP is necessary, simply join us in the cafe to sit in, enjoy some chocolate, and learn something new!

Word Honey is getting "weird" at the Animas City Night Baazar!   Join us at 81301 Coffee Roasters at 6pm for a free poetry workshop and community open mic event!    Theme: "Weird Science" Write something ahead of time or create with us in a workshop.   Come to write, read, share, or just to listen and enjoy. Writers of all ages and abilities are encouraged to join us. Workshop repeats every other Wednesday night.
