Quick & Dirty Downtown Walking Tour
10:00am / Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Depot
For those seeking the highlight reel of Durango’s Historic Downtown history. This is a must-do for locals to learn where actual notorious Wild West events happened (as opposed to the lore) to share with your summer guests. Both tourists and locals alike will walk away with a very different view of Durango and a deeper appreciation. Were six or more outlaws hung on the hanging tree? Where was the hanging tree? Listen to true stories of outlaws, entrepreneurs, red-light districts, and extraordinary lawmen of the time. This tour meets at the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Depot (gather at the horse sculptures out front). Please note this is a one-way walk down Main Avenue. We will end at the Jack Dempsey Mural at El Rancho Tavern. On this 60-90 minute tour we will not enter establishments. This makes it an option for those in wheelchairs (be prepared for uneven Durango sidewalks however). After the tour you will be right on time for lunch at any of our wonderful downtown restaurants; now with a newfound appreciation of Durango. Your fully vaccinated tour guide will not be wearing a mask while outside. Masks are not required on this tour but may be required inside the haunted location.

Hauntings & History Ghost Tour
8:00pm / Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Depot
Downtown Durango is saturated with paranormal activity. You don’t need to walk far to get your fill of ghost stories. Main Avenue was once home to a plethora of saloons, dance halls, brothels, and gambling halls. It was the stomping ground for outlaws, gamblers, prostitutes, miners, and railroad workers. Late night escapades, fueled by whiskey, led to many tragic events resulting in the ghosts that wander the streets today. Our 90-minute Hauntings & History Ghost Tour will not disappoint. We will meet in front of the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Train Depot (479 Main Ave) at dusk. Midway through the tour we will enter one of the best haunted locations that Downtown Durango has to offer! We are the only ghost tour that takes people INSIDE of a location! Wherever we tread on Main Avenue you will hear tales of apparitions who refuse to leave the places they inhabited in life. Because of the tight sidewalks downtown our tours do not exceed 15 people. Be prepared for loud streets and crowds. Downtown Durango can be pretty raucous at night. Your fully vaccinated guide will not be wearing a mask. Masks are required for entering the haunted location.

All About Aromatherapy
10:00am / Online, interactive class (due to COVID)
Aromatherapy is all the rage. Essential oils are fun, they're portable, and they can quickly turn into an obsession in growing one's collection. Oils can be super useful, but can also cause problems when used inappropriately. Plant aromatics can be a great way to engage your senses. Whether you are an absolute newbie or someone who has been an aroma-geek for a while, this class is for you.   We'll nerd out on (i) exactly what essential oils are and how to use them, (ii) how much is too much when it comes to oil usage, (iii) ways to tell if your oil is diluted/fake, (iv) blending for health usages and perfumery, (v) the 5 most common uses for plant aromatics in my clinical practice (vi) my 10 favorite oils in detail, and (vii) how to do aromatherapy without expensive, little brown bottles of oil. There will be a demo on making aromatic herbal infused oils. Samples will be available for local pick up in Durango or Albuquerque.

Mountain Marmot Trail Run
9:00am / Purgatory Resort
“Mountain Marmot” is an epic trail race. The course is simple—start at the bottom of the mountain…run to the top and back. Sounds hard? It’s definitely a challenge. But think how great you will feel when you make it to the top!   One thing is for sure: You won’t find a more beautiful course anywhere around. You’ll be running some of the most amazing single-track trails in Colorado, right as the Fall colors are just starting to change. The views will be stunning. This is a race you will never forget.   Mountain Marmot photoThe distance is 12 miles. Because of the elevation gain, think of it as equal to a half-marathon. The best part is, the second half of the race is entirely downhill! If you have run similar races like Imogene, Kendall Mountain, or Kennebec Mountain, you will find this race to be easier by comparison, but still plenty challenging.

The High Country Cowboys
8:00pm / VFW Hall
Remembering the good old days of Western music and the silver screen cowboys like Roy Rogers, Gene Autry and the Sons of the Pioneers, the High Country Cowboys present their brand of this classic genre. Born and raised in the heart of ranch country in south central Montana, they grew up playing cowboys and watching the old B-Western films on VHS which instilled in them a love for the West and cowboy music.   Since their beginning in 2014, the Pro Cowboy Country Association has awarded them Music Group of the Year in 2017 and 2018 and they received Best Album of the Year for their album "Cowboy" in 2018. Lead singer Marty was honored as Yodeler of the Year in 2017 and Male Vocalist of the Year in 2018. The IWMA also recognized their album "Cowboy" as Best Album of the Year in 2017, and Marty has won IWMA Yodeler of the Year three times. Their traditional sound and three-part Western harmony has been compared to the Sons of the Pioneers and Marty Robbins.
