The LPEA Member Service Representative (MSR) team invites the community to assist members who have difficulty paying their electric bills. You can donate funds directly to LPEA members in need in one of four ways:    - Venmo us @GivingTree_LPEA   - Call us at (970) 247-5786.   - Pick up a "Giving Tree" envelope at our drive-through lanes in Durango or Pagosa, place your donation inside, and put it in the payment drop box clearly marked at each office.   - Give your donation to a member service representative in one of our lobbies.

Zumba Gold is a modified Zumba class for active older adults or anyone else interested in the same fun, but low impact, moves to music from around the world, and at a lower-intensity. Zumba Gold Toning uses light weights while dancing (if desired; not required). This class format is approximately 50% regular Gold and 50% Gold Toning.   The design of the class introduces easy-to-follow Zumba choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination. The magnificent, opulent sets, complete with a gloriously gigantic Christmas tree, came all the way from Russia to set the backdrop for glittering snowflakes, waltzing flowers, the Sugar Plum Fairy and her enchanting castle of characters - including local dancers and singers.

Embark on an incredible train journey through the southwest Rocky Mountains. This unforgettable Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad's steam train excursion whisks passengers to and from Cascade Canyon offering magnificent views of the Animas River and Canyon as it climbs through the San Juan Mountains, much of which is inaccessible by any other vehicle. It's a 52 mile roundtrip journey into a winter wonderland with a 60 minute layover at Cascade Canyon just enough time to take a winter walk along the river, take photos or have lunch by the fire in the pavilion.    Departure time is 9:15am and return time is 2:30pm. Durango Farmers Market will host their annual Holiday Market this Saturday, December 11 from 9am-2pm at the La Plata County Fairgrounds. The market will feature local farmers and artisans.

The Smiley Building will be hopping this holiday season with 20 new artist studios and other creative spaces and businesses opened to the public for the first Smiley Holiday Bazaar!   Visitors can purchase gifts for the holidays from paintings, glass designs, pottery, jewelry, furniture, photography, ukuleles, gift certificates to workshops, classes to wellness and style services.
