Home to Home Film Screening & Q&A with Filmmakers
6:00pm / Student Union Ballroom - Fort Lewis College
On September 9, 2019, four friends set off together on a journey along the Colorado Trail with a handful of film cameras and a guitar. The premise was for Joe to run from his home in the Front Range, where he'd lived for a decade, to his new home in the San Juan Mountains, documenting the excursion using all analog media. Joe ran, hiked, and talked his way along the 500 miles of trail, accompanied by Chris on his acoustic guitar, while Brendan and Forest photographed and filmed on their 16mm and 35mm cameras. The nine days spent together manifested in a convergence of people, place, and experience, rooting the crew in a deeper appreciation and understanding of home.   Joe Grant: Joe is a mountain runner, photographer, and writer living in Durango, Colorado. Joe grew up in France and came to FLC as an exchange student 20 years ago. He has a diverse resume running, racing, and adventuring in Colorado and around the world. He derives his inspiration from exploring wild places under his own power and is passionate about protecting these areas for current and future generations.   Chris Parker: Raised in the Mississippi Delta, now based in the Wasatch Mountains, Christopher Parker is a musician, writer, climber, and FLC alumni that finds inspiration in the outdoors. A husband and father of two, these days he can be found playing his songs for rambunctious kiddos at crags, campsites, and trailheads around the wild west.   More Info: This event is open to the public and there will be a cash bar. Tickets are $5 and FLC alumni that RSVP will receive a free drink ticket.   Parking: Parking is free at FLC after 5pm.   Questions: Contact Director of Alumni Engagement, Ryan Lazo, at rtlazo@fortlewis.edu

Food & Clothing Drive for the Navajo Nation
10:30am / Toh-Atin Gallery Parking Lot
A Food and Winter Clothing Drive for the Navajo Nation will be held in the Toh-Atin Gallery Parking Lot on Thursday, December 8, from 10:30 am until 2 pm. Winter is closing in on the Reservation and there are many people who will need assistance this year. Clothing, coats, boots, socks, long underwear, hats, gloves, tents, sleeping bags, toys for young children, canned food and really, anything that you don't or can't use that could help a Navajo family make it through a tough winter is something we can use.    The Missionaries of Charity trailer will be in the Toh-Atin lot to collect your donations. None are too small and none are too big. If you can't make it to the Gallery on Thursday, we will have a trailer to collect items on Wednesday all day.    This area of the United States is one of the highest unemployment areas in the country and with food, heating costs and rents going up almost monthly, there are many homeless and people with homes who are having trouble staying warm this winter. The people who run the Charities do it entirely as a donation. Everything you donate goes to the people   If you would rather send a check, which is always welcome, you can mail it directly to:  Missionaries of Charity Navajo fund   207 Black Diamond Canyon Drive   Gallup, New Mexico 87301   Thank you for your support,  Toh-Atin Gallery

Though the group is made up of five guys from Durango, Colorado, they consider every audience to be their 6th collective member; their heartbeat, medicine and reason for song.    Funk meets Pop, Rock meets Hip Hop, Jazz meets Reggae. Elder Grown uses the freedom of improvisational jams as their foundation to create their captivating, soul-inspired sound. From the set opener to the fourth hour, Elder Grown encourages you to break down your ideas of genre with your hips and heartbeat. The band takes listeners on a genre-bending rollercoaster through rule-breaking sound, often switching instruments mid-song. Start with groovy, funk inspired bass lines reminiscent of Motown meeting the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Then, add screaming lead guitar and bossy sax lines reflective of Pink Floyd and Maceo Parker. Finish it off with inspiration from Rage Against the Machine, Atmosphere, and Sublime and you are beginning to understand the sound that is Elder Grown. Brothers and Sisters, you are invited to embark on a journey into the unrecognizably familiar.    https://www.facebook.com/ElderGrown/  http://www.eldergrown.com/  https://www.reverbnation.com/eldergrown   Graham Good & The Painters  Graham Good is hailed as the Messiah of Modern Rock (Nick Stock, jambands.com) due to his infectious energy and classic song writing. Specializing in Feel-Good//Funk-Folk-Rock, this group touches on a plethora of genres that help make them an easy band for any new fan to instantly connect with. The band has played iconic Denver venues such as Red Rocks, The Ogden, The Gothic, and The Bluebird opening up for acts such as Caamp, Andy Frasco, Satsang, and Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers. The Painters are a band of trained musicians who aim to pull the heartstrings of their audiences to step up and live life fully. Maddy O'Neal, Beat Kitty, Omega
8:00pm / Animas City Theatre
21+  Dirty Funky Bass Music but make it pretty.  The vibe and soul of the Maddy O'Neal project combines soundscapes from all across the spectrum of genres…Rich in texture and atmosphere, her roots in funk and soul shine through in a bed of low end frequencies making for a unique environment for future bass and synth design to tie it all together. Hailing from Denver, Colorado you can hear the direct electro soul inspiration sprinkled in her productions but she has managed to carve out her own unique lane within the bass community. As a self taught producer and DJ, with a wildly creative upbringing, Maddy's expression was formed by way of soulful melodic overtones, driven basslines, and glitched out hip hop grooves. Maddy's live performances consist of original compositions, drum pads and an interwoven storyline ranging from down low grimey bangers to shimmery mid tempo vocal bass tracks and head nod disco. Her momentum is unstoppable as she has been touring the country for the last 5 years playing 90+ shows a year spreading her infectious energy from stage to stage.    With hits like "Zest Please"; a collaboration with the iconic Clozee that amassed over 2 million Spotify plays in just one year, 4 EPs, and her second full length album coming this fall, Maddy's repertoire is ever expanding leaving fan bases across the world wanting more.    Maddy O'Neal has played Electric Forest, Camp Bisco, Summer Camp, North Coast, Summer Meltdown, Red Rocks (x3) and many many more. Her touring resume is long and accomplished by supporting such artists as Clozee, Pretty Lights, Big Gigantic, The Floozies, Opiuo, Wreckno, Cherub, SunSquabi, Manic Focus, and more!    Upcoming notable summer festival performances include highlights such as Lollapalooza, Forecastle, SSBD, Summer Camp, Rekinection, Secret Dreams, Dreamscape, and more!

We teach Salsa on 2 (NYC style).   Level 3 is for intermediate Salsa dancers with a solid grasp of musicality, footwork, cross-body leads, and combination moves. We will work on more complex combos, progressive right turns, slants, stops, copas, and more. We teach Salsa on 2 (NYC style) - but may occasionally throw in some Salsa on 1 (LA style).
