Cowboys and Indians Magazine has called him “the Charlie Russell of Western Music.” Western Horseman Magazine has declared his “Vaquero Song” to be one of the greatest Western songs of all time. True West Magazine named him Best Living Western Solo Musician four years in a row. Dave Stamey has been a cowboy, a mule packer, a dude wrangler, and is now one of the most popular Western entertainers working today. He has been voted seven times Entertainer of the Year, seven times Male Performer of the Year and Five times Songwriter of the Year by the Western Music Association, and received the Will Rogers Award from the Academy of Western Artists. He’s delighted audiences in twenty three states, and finds that he prefers this to being stomped by angry horses. In November of 2016 Dave was inducted into the Western Music Hall of Fame. Two shows: 6:00 and 8:30 p.m.

Ballyhoo! - Shellshock Tour with Jimmies Chicken Shack
8:00pm / Animas City Theatre
Doors 7:00pm / Show 8:00pm  Tickets $25 / 21+  Ballyhoo!  Through 25 years and eight independent albums, the last four on their own Right Coast Records, Ballyhoo! have earned the exclamation point which marks their name. Starting in the basement of their mom's Aberdeen, MD, home, rocking out on guitar and drums respectively, practicing every day, brothers Howi and Donald Spangler formed the proto-punk band in the mold of Green Day and Nirvana, with an eye towards the emerging ska genre led by Goldfinger, Sublime, 311 and No Doubt. The group's eighth and most recent studio album, the breezy, ska-fueled, hook-filled Message to the World, on their own Right Coast Records, finds the self-declared "beach-rockers," having grown up in public, accepting the responsibilities of adulthood while still hanging on to their dreams of world domination. Stylistically, their music ranges from the hard-edged punk of 2018's Detonate, which captured the feelings of anger and depression from dealing with personal loss and the exhaustion generated by over a decade on the road to the island reggae beats of the follow-up, Message to the World. "Whatever you want to achieve, just focus on that and work towards it," explains Howi about the Ballyhoo! ethos. "Don't worry about followers, views, or even money. Just keep making good stuff. One day it may be possible to finally quit that day job and live your dream full time."Ballyhoo! is still doing just that, purveying good vibes, positivity and fun live shows meant to take you away from real life...   Jimmie's Chicken Shack is an American alternative rock band from Annapolis, Maryland. They emerged through MTV as one of the first post-grunge bands of the era. Blending funk-metal with elements of ska and reggae while also demonstrating surprising acoustic prowess, lead vocalist Jimi Haha grew up in Maryland where he played with the group Ten Times Big. After that band broke up, he snowboarded for two years before beginning several acoustic jams with friends. These coalesced into Jimmie's Chicken Shack. Based in Annapolis, MD, the group formed their own Fowl Records, which became a nexus for the leading bands in the tri-state area. After selling tens of thousands of records, Jimmie's Chicken Shack signed to Elton John's Rocket Records and released two major-label albums, Pushing the Salmanilla Envelope and Bring Your Own Stereo. Both albums enjoyed chart, radio, and MTV success and produced their best known hits "High" and "Do Right." The band subsequently released two more albums Re.Present and Fail on Cue independently. The band has been a fixture on the touring circuit and is renowned for its high energy live performances.

The season premiere of the San Juan Symphony Season 38, New Horizons, kicks off Saturday, September 30th, at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College and on Sunday, October 1st, at Henderson Performance Hall in Farmington with a program called EXUBERANCE.   The concert will feature American composer Amy Beach's Piano Concerto in C-sharp Minor, a Romantic masterpiece showcasing her profound talent and Russian influences. Audiences will be transported through sublime melodies and virtuosic piano passages, all interpreted with finesse and passion by soloist Kara Huber.    Following Beach's enchanting compositions, the audience will be treated to the evocative and powerful Symphony No. 5 by Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893). Tchaikovsky's symphony, with its haunting melodies and emotional depth, has earned its place as one of the most beloved works in the classical repertoire. Tropidelic w/ Kyle Smith & Joey Harkum
8:00pm / Animas City Theatre
$20/$25  Early Show Doors 6:30pm   "Every single second is a blessing if you count them all," sings frontman Matthew Roads. You can hear the sincerity in his voice; the joie de vivre that oozes from everything Tropidelic does is apparent. When they take a stage, their synergy flows member to member - horns blow, knees kicked high and grins are passed from one man to the next. Almost immediately, it spreads to the crowd, lifting hands in the air as their feet begin to move. The pulse collectively becomes that of one.   The six-piece band from Cleveland, Ohio may be far from any tropical islands, but that doesn't stop them from dishing out an interesting mix of reggae, hip-hop, and high energy funk for audiences across the country. Unapologetically original, Tropidelic has a deep and widespread appreciation for music that can be heard in each note. Some of the members are hip-hop heads, while others are into metal, funk or reggae. Each of these genres lends something to their collective sound. "We pride ourselves in being original in our musicality and personality as a band," says Roads, "but also in not taking ourselves so seriously that it ruins the fun."   Quickly elevating themselves in the live circuit, Tropidelic can be found spreading their soulful sound across the country in both intimate venues and music festivals, having shared the stage with and supported such acts as 311, Slightly Stoopid, The Dirty Heads, Pepper, The Flobots and Wookiefoot. Previously, Tropidelic has been featured at Electric Forest, California Roots Music & Art Festival, Reggae Rise Up, Warped Tour and 311 Caribbean Cruise, as well as the host of their own annual Freakstomp Music Festival.   Following on the success of their 2019 release, Here in the Heights, which debuted at #2 on the Billboard reggae charts, Tropidelic has released a series of impressive singles featuring guest appearances from Dirty Heads, Matisyahu, Devin the Dude and Shwayze. These singles have amassed over five million streams in 2020, and they are featured on their latest album, Of Illusion, which debuted on November 13th, 2020. Of Illusion was released on Billboard's number one reggae label, Ineffable Records. Tropidelic has put in their ten thousand hours, and they have arrived on the national scene to the delight of their ever growing and rapturous fans.

The Expendables w/ Claire Wright
8:00pm / Animas City Theatre
Doors 7:00pm / Show 8:00pm   The Expendables have proven anything but in their nearly 25-year career since starting out as a spirited party band in high school performing surf-rock covers for birthdays and family gatherings. A quarter-century later, elementary school buddies Raul Bianchi, Adam Peterson andGeoff Weers, along with bassist Ryan DeMars, who joined in 2000, have forged a unique sound born in the laid-back beach life in their hometown of Santa Cruz, CA. The Expendables' infectious hybrid of ska, surf-rock, punk, reggae and metal can be heard in their latest streaming track, "Surfman Cometh," a spaghetti-western meets "Pipeline" twang that could easily form the soundtrack to the latest Quentin Tarantino film. The song is the first release from the group's new and improved Band Room, their longtime rehearsal space in a 1,100 square foot warehouse and former wine cellar on Coral Street, where Adam Patterson took charge of the final mix to great effect. The band's previous studio album of original material, 2015's Sand in the Sky, was followed by The Expendables' second release featuring acoustic reworking of past material,Gone Raw, 2019's follow-up to 2012's Gone Soft. The Expendables continue woodshedding until they can get back out on the road. Their 2017 Moment EP, which debuted at #1 on theBillboard Reggae chart, showed the band starting to move into different musical directions, a set featuring collaborations with reggae crooner HIRIE, rapper Tech N9ne, Eric Rachmany, and Micah Peuschel   https://www.theexpendables.net  https://www.facebook.com/theexpendables  https://twitter.com/TheExpendables  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjUAKc_u9dvTTvYugIezUKw  https://www.instagram.com/theexpendables/   https://music.apple.com/us/artist/the-expendables/77407986 https://open.spotify.com/artist/2OpHxx1SArSMlBrIMM0aV9?si=k5e9xyeVSliP2XyNnMOI4A&nd=1

Long Beach Dub Allstars x Passafire w/Special Guests
8:00pm / Animas City Theatre
$40 /$45 / 21+   After making their triumphant return in 2020 with their self-titled album, Long Beach Dub Allstars are taking it all the way back-to-basics on their new album "Echo Mountain High". The album will take listeners on a trip through a psychedelic mountain range of musical madness filled with reggae, rock, ska, hip hop, hard dub, and soul.   When the pandemic hit, tour was cancelled and the band was put down for about a bit. After about a year, Long Beach Dub Allstars, Opie Ortiz and Edwin Kampwirth got busy and started to write some songs. Setting up their own personal musical "resort" in Opie's yard, the duo began to demo new tracks. This "resort sesh" led to the creation of 18 demos that would become the seeds of "Echo Mountain High"   The band began working with Long Beach Dub Allstars guitarist Michael "Miguel" Happoldt to help figure out which of the songs to focus on. 13 songs were chosen and sent the band. With the full band tracking straight to tape at Tracking at 64 Sound, the canvas and frame were built and it was now time to paint. So then off to record overdubs with the great Lewis "Lew" Richards at 17th Street Recording studios , as well as at Mike and Tim's home studios. Within a year, the album was completed.   Today's generation of reggae-rock fans may not fully understand how critical this group was to the reggae-rock genre, following Sublime's conclusion in 1996. They played at a time when social media was non-existent. Live-videos of their early performances are mostly of grainy VHS quality, while most live-photos shot by fans were with throw-away cameras. There was no Youtube, Facebook, and this was before Myspace or even iTunes. They were the torch bearers of a genre that Sublime introduced and the original 'Dub Allstars lineup included most of the players who were involved in cultivating that Reggae-Rock sound with Brad Nowell. Seeing them reunite and perform new music after a 15-year absence is exciting. Together these musical professors and legends from Long Beach have engineered a new studio album that adds to the legacy of Long Beach Dub Allstars. 25 years later the band has found its resurgence with Opie Ortiz(vocals), Miguel Happoldt (guitar), Tim Wu (horns) joined by Roger Rivas (keys), Ed Kampwirth (bass) and Gil Sharone(drums).
