DESCRIPTION
As a result of the digital age, the power of computer software allows historians to transform the traditional forms of written narrative through visual media with significant implications for research and teaching. This presentation, based on Josh Salyers’ dissertation on Mexico City tenements, demonstrates how to use Computer-Aided Design, Building Information Modeling, and gaming software to create 3D interactive historical environments for learning and research.

Joshua K. Salyers is a 2015-2016 Doctoral Fellow at the Center of Southwest Studies.
