Durango families considering educational options for their children are invited to learn about how virtual public school works. There will be a free information session hosted by Colorado Connections Academy in Durango on Monday, June 6th at 6:30 p.m. at the DoubleTree Durango (501 Camino Del Rio, Durango, CO 81301). At this information session, families will have an opportunity to learn about the Colorado Connections Academy curriculum, meet with Connections Academy faculty and thoroughly explore the school’s program. Attendees will find a presentation explaining the school’s personalized program, and a chance to connect with other interested families while enjoying light refreshments. Colorado Connections Academy offers an individualized approach to learning combined with certified teachers, an award winning curriculum, technology tools and socialization opportunities. Because it is a public school, there are no costs for tuition or fees to attend. The non-traditional learning environment can be a great fit for all types of students. Colorado Connections Academy @ Durango was recently authorized by the Durango School District 9-R and certified by the State Board of Education and the Colorado Department of Education to serve students in all grades from across Colorado. Enrollment is currently open and Colorado Connections Academy @ Durango will begin serving students in grades K-10 in the 2016-17 school year, with an additional grade level added each subsequent school year. Colorado Connections Academy is a network of two online schools (ColoCA @ Mapleton, and ColoCA @ Durango) both serve students across the state.
