Students taking the workshop will learn a short history of the pastel medium, currently available materials, including pastels and the different surfaces upon which to work. The instructor will cover mark making, which is the basis of all pastel work. Lorraine will lead the students through exercises to learn about the differences between various pastels, and how they work on different surfaces. Students will learn where to get the different kinds of pastel supplies. Class time is 9 am to 3 pm on Saturday and 9 am to 4 pm on Sunday.
