This powerful rock musical digs into the lives of a fragmented family grappling with crisis and loss. The story centers around DIANE, a mother who struggles with worsening bipolar disorder and the effects that her illness and its management have had on her family, her husband, DAN and children NATALIE the over-achieving teenager and GABE their son. This musical’s graceful, brutally honest, yet humorous handling of grief, mental illness, and ethics in modern psychiatry has expanded the scope of theatrical subject matter and transformed the possibilities of the American musical.
