Plein Air Drawing, Part 3: Expressive Collage
Instructor: Kiley Smith
Place: Durango Nature Center
Time: 9:00 am to 11:00 am
Join a DNS Naturalist / Artist for an opportunity to discover how your own ideas, memories, and emotions can be expressed using drawn images and found objects from our environment. In this focused, creative practice you will explore your unique relationship to the natural world. A 20-30 minute group discussion regarding design concepts will be followed by a 90 minute “free draw†during which the instructor will offer one-on-one instruction to participants. All skill levels welcome. Please bring your own dry media (graphite, charcoal, pastels, conte crayon, etc.), substrate at least 8†x 10†(paper, sketchbook, wood, canvas, art panel), as well as any other materials you want to use in your work (adhesives, thread, personal mementos, etc.)
