Reliable, high-speed data communications will be a key enabling technology of the Smart Grid. Delta Montrose Electric Association (DMEA), a rural electric cooperative based in Montrose, Colorado, is building a 100% fiber network critical to their future Smart Grid across their entire service territory. Beyond delivering ultra fast communication services, the project will also benefit load management and distributed generation.
