Join the dedication ceremony of Joshua Wiener's sculpture, Endurance, the official commemorative art piece signifying Durango's participation as overall start city host to the 2012 USA Pro Cycling Challenge. An accomplished public artist and Fort Lewis College alumni, Joshua's sculpture was selected from a competitive pool of submissions in mid-April and will be installed at the Florida Road Roundabout at Chapman Hill Recreation Area. Endurance consists of five sculptures, slightly larger than life, and each composed of half-inch bars of solid steel welded together in the form of a cyclist. Generously sponsored by the Bank of Colorado, the City of Durango and Public Art Commission is proud to welcome Endurance into Durango's vibrant art collection--currently valued at over $1 million.
