The semifinal competition of the fifth annual Durango Iron Horse Chef will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. July 28 at the Durango Farmers Market, located in the parking lot of First National Bank of Durango at Eighth Street between Camino del Rio and Main Avenue.

The competition, which is hosted by the Colorado State University Extension Office and Kitchen Koach, will be a series of challenges pitting two chefs against each other. The chefs will have an hour and a half to shop and prepare dishes at the farmers market.

The winner will take home the traveling trophy: a personalized Durango Iron Horse Chef Competition jacket and the title of the Iron Horse Chef Competition winner of 2012.
