Hailed by The Chicago Reader as “the most charismatic performer who puts her creamy voice to good use,” Kelly brings a unique perspective to her shows. Known for her ability to combine wit with warmth as well as theatricality with sincerity, she has become a beloved staple on Chicago’s cabaret scene. In Pop Meets the Classics, she sings it like it is: showing how master composers such as Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Puccini have influenced contemporary musicians ranging from Barry Manilow to Billy Joel. She also puts her own twist on some of her favorite pop songs and arias.
