Chocoholics Unite!! It’s time for the 27th annual CHOCOLATE FANTASIA at the La Plata County Fairgrounds. On Friday, February 8, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., you can indulge your love of chocolate while benefitting the Volunteers of America Southwest Safehouse and the Durango Community Shelter.

Just think-you and a roomful of chocolate with no limit on how much you can eat! This year’s theme is “Chocolate Zoo-Bilee.” A trip to the zoo with animals made out of chocolate and a children’s corner with activities for the kids and entertainment provided by two members of the Salt Fire Circus and the Encore Troupe. Photo opportunities will also be provided by illuminArts Photography.

Over 200 delicacies will be created by local restaurants and amateur chefs competing to create the best dessert in town. And you get to be the judge! As Charles M. Schultz once said, “All you need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt!”

Tickets are available in stores all over Durango as well as nearby communities, and will be available at the door on the day of the event.
