Durango-based canyoneer Steve Allen has spent the last five years doing intensive research & writing on top of the last forty years he has hiked & explored Utah’s canyon country, resulting in Utah's Canyon Country Names, a two-volume set with more than 4,000 place name derivations, including early descriptions & stories told by the explorers, pioneers, cowboys, miners & river runners who put names on the land.
