Durango Heritage Celebration
Thu, October 10, 2013
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
This year is the 6th year of this annual historic event to occur in downtown Durango to celebrate the area's historic beginnings. Our motto is "Bringing Local History Alive to Benefit the Community". This long weekend event focuses on the period of 1881, Durango's incorporation, through 1912. Even if you don't participate, there's nothing like seeing throngs of Victorian and Old West attendees downtown in their elaborate period dress! This year the event will include a Victorian fashion show and tea, Friday evening banquet at the Strater Hotel to celebrate Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show having been invited by Queen Victoria to visit England and perform, a Grand Victorian Ball, historic tour of Greenmount Cemetery featuring City officials as the pioneers buried there, special ride on the D&SNGRR -- in period costume -- and much more!
