A singer/songwriter in the Texas Honky tonk tradition, Aaron Watson plays country music with a traditional feel but with a young man's energy and spunk. Watson's career has been, as he puts it, "slow and steady; a long distance race & not a sprint." He was raised in Amarillo listening to his father's record collection that included not only classic country, but also performers such as the Beach Boys and the Beatles. While his mother would encourage him to sing, Watson preferred sports but was derailed by an injury in college. It was at college where Watson picked up the guitar and realized his talent for songwriting. Watson says he draws inspiration for his music from his family and his fans. He has a steadfast dedication to each. His latest release, Real Good Time (2012) includes songs about Watson's wife, his parents and grandparents. D.L.
