A bird walk is hosted every Wednesday at 9 a.m. starting from For the Birds, 1560 East Second Ave. The hosts of the walk are the Weminuche Audubon Society, Durango Bird Club and Durango Nature Studies.

Participants explore the habitat along the Animas River Trail around the fish hatchery and Huck Finn Pond. The walks last 90 minutes. Participants should bring binoculars. The event is free, but donations to this week's hosting group are welcome, with $5 per person being a much appreciated amount.
