On August 11, a Perseids Meteor Shower, the biggest and most reliable meteor shower of the entire year, can be seen with the naked eye. Folks can expect to see 75-100 meteors per hr from midnight on. Participants can bring blankets, sleeping bags, or portable recliners that can be carried down the trail. A telescope will be set up--mainly to keep folks occupied while we wait for moonset around 10:30 PM.
