The FLC Percussion Ensemble will begin with Casey Cangelosi's Metavita, performed by a trio of musicians in complete darkness, and each member performs on one snare drum with a pair of wire brushes and two small LED lights. This unique composition portrays a drama of creation, life, growth, and death, with the LED lights representing fictional life forms. They begin, multiply, interact, and end. Additional compositions include Brian Nozny's Atmos Clock, which features three performers on one marimba, Perpetuo by Thomas R. Marceau, and Brian Blume's exciting quartet, Black Racer. Following the FLC Percussion Ensemble, the FLC Jazz Combo will close the performance with a variety of jazz compositions!
