“Sidewalk Cloud” Workshop (Inryu=Cloud Dragon) with Mary Ellen Long Saturday, August 31 10 a.m.–4 p.m. In the DAC Education Studio $65 members; $75 non-members (plus $10 materials fee) An opportunity to make hanging clouds of kozo fiber using stencils that have been made from photos of “real” clouds. Students will learn about kozo fiber processing including cooking and handbeating. The workshop will focus on techniques of pouring pulp and embossing. We will also investigate a variety of pulp displacement techniques used in Japanese papermaking.
