DESCRIPTION
Durango Arts Center announces an upcoming exhibit, Sentinels of Change: Drought in the West; Members’ Exhibit showing October 25–November 16 with an opening reception Friday, October 25 from 5-7 p.m. Denise Rue-Pastin from the Water Information Program with the Southwestern Water Conservation District will introduce the exhibit and the upcoming event, An Evening of Art, Science and Conversation.

This year’s members’ exhibit theme is drought in the west and is open to all Durango Arts Center members for submission for original, creative work, which can be dropped off Tuesday, October 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please visit DAC’s website for more information and to download the prospectus.

As part of the exhibit, DAC teams up with the Mountain Studies Institute to host An Evening of Art, Science and Conversation, an environmental lecture series on Friday, November 1 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the DAC Theater. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for students.

Organizations included in the discussion are Mountain Studies Institute, Southwestern Water Conservation District, Water Information Program, Western Water Assessment, University of Colorado Boulder, Mountain Roots Farm, Colorado Water Conservation Board and Justice Gregory J. Hobbs Jr. from the Colorado Supreme Court.
