DESCRIPTION
Saturday, February 1 3-4pm Free to the public Members of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), will present informative vignettes about some of the women who have shaped the history of the San Juan Basin as part of the current Four Corners Commission: Journey Stories exhibit in the Barbara Conrad Gallery. Characters portrayed include Martha Roberts, the first non-native settler of the Animas Valley, Mother Mary Baptist Myers, one of the founders of Mercy Hospital and Violet Smith, who ran the King Coal Company with her husband, Irvin. These monologues will be performed by Lou Falkenstein, Judy Hook and K Redford. The public is invited to learn more about the lives of these diverse women.
