DAC’s 21st Annual Creativity Festivity: Origins April 14 – May 2 Includes an art exhibit by school kids K – 12 grade, Poetry writing contest for 4th and 5th grades, music performances and more. Creativity Festivity showcases the work of local students in the community and celebrates the important creative work that happens in our schools. The 2014 theme is Origins, which will coincide with both the Journey Stories exhibit at Animas Museum and the Origins: Spanish Colonial Art. Exhibit at the Durango Arts Center. Festivity Events: • Local Children’s Artwork on display at the Durango Arts Center Barbara Conrad Gallery April 17-May 10 Opening Reception: Thursday, April 17 5-6 p.m. • High School Poetry Slam: Durango Arts Center Theater Wednesday, April 16, sign up to read 5-6 p.m. • Poetry Contest: 4th grade poems due April 14 to Sandra at the Durango Arts Center. Prizes for the top three will be presented at the opening reception.
