Purgatory Resort hosts two community events:

The Dave Spencer Annual Ski Classic is a team-based, costumed “racing” event on the NASTAR course that supports Adaptive Sports Association. Teams are encouraged to participate, dress up, and help raise funds for adaptive sports programming.

Later in the day, Uncle Clyde’s Run and Slide brings relay-style competition to the tubing hill. Teams complete as many uphill-and-downhill laps as possible within timed heats. Divisions are available for adult teams (male, female, and coed), plus categories for kids and parent/child teams. Prizes are awarded for race categories as well as costumes, team spirit, and best cheering section.
