Taste of Music - This free event is offered to more than 1,200 third and fourth grade students from the Durango, Dolores, Ignacio, Silverton, Pagosa Springs, Cortez, and Mancos region.

Children learn about the instruments used for classical and jazz music, and also about concert etiquette by attending a concert presented by ensembles from the Fort Lewis College Music Department.

For the majority of children, this is their first Concert Hall experience. Music in the Mountains arranges transport between the Durango schools and FLC and helps shepherd the students into the Community Concert Hall.

Attendance is available to third and fourth grade students only. No tickets available to general public for this event; contact Music in the Mountains for additional information.
