Join us for a relaxing watercolor pop-up designed to help you slow down, observe nature, and have some artistic fun. Participants will explore Durango Botanic Gardens to find a plant or flower that inspires them - taking time to notice leaf shapes, blossoms, and even pollinators buzzing nearby.
From there, you’ll create your own artwork with guidance from local artist Phoebe Zelenka. Phoebe will demonstrate watercolor and watercolor pencil techniques, helping you bring your chosen scene to life. Each participant will receive four postcard-sized pieces of watercolor paper. You’ll leave not only with beautiful watercolor renderings inspired by the gardens, but also with skills you can use to continue creating at home.
A Durango Botanic Garden Docent will be there to answer any questions you may have about the flowers in bloom. All skill levels are welcome. Supplies are included. Children under 10 should be accompanied by an adult. Meeting location: Library north patio
