DESCRIPTION
Dr. Linda Mack Berven will be discussing the pieces and composers featured in the Festival Orchestra "A Fortunate Affair." She is very informative and entertaining and it is sure to enhance your entire experience!

Linda Mack Berven, Chorus Conductor, Harpsichord, Pre-concert Lecturer Mack Berven earned her doctoral degree from the University of Illinois and was a long time music faculty member at Fort Lewis College. Her appearances as a conductor, pianist, and harpsichordist have included the San Juan Symphony, Fort Lewis College faculty recitals, Third Avenue Arts Recital Series and the Durango Bach Festival, and she regularly performs with C. Scott Hagler as part of the Vivace Piano Duo. She currently serves as Artistic Director and Conductor of the Durango Choral Society and the Durango Women’s Choir and is a former Music Director of the Santa Fe Desert Chorale. In addition to providing the pre-concert lectures and playing piano and harpsichord for this year’s festival, she has also prepared the singers for the July 27th performance of Carmina Burana. Mack Berven made her Carnegie Hall conducting debut in 2010. Since then she has had conducting engagements in Prague, Greece, Zagreb, Salzburg, Innsbruck and Linz.
